Simply Mindful Counseling Internship Program

High-Quality Treatment at a Low Cost

Our interns are completing their Masters level coursework and will be licensed to work independently in the next year. Interns receive intensive support from both leadership at their university and other licensed clinicians here at Simply Mindful Counseling. They bring a high level of enthusiasm to sessions and often are equipped with the most up-to-date research as they are learning it currently. They also carry a very small caseload so they are able to provide each patient with high-quality care. Patients who choose to work with one of our interns get the benefit of having a team of people supporting their clinician. Additionally, schedules are a bit more flexible and the cost for services is significantly reduced. We work with patients on a case by case basis to allow you to pay what you can for services. Services provided by interns are not billable to insurance, however, if you have a high deductible plan with one of our accepted insurances, we are happy to offer sessions with an intern at the cost of your copay.

Our Mission

At Simply Mindful Counseling, we are committed to the belief that mental health care should be accessible to all—unrestricted by income, insurance status, or systemic barriers. Our low-cost counseling program operates on a sliding scale model to ensure equitable access to high-quality, person-centered therapy for individuals and families across diverse economic backgrounds. We recognize the systemic and financial challenges that may limit access to care. In response, we invest in the training and support of emerging professionals, to maintain both affordability and excellence in service delivery. Our work is grounded in the use of evidence-based practice and the core values of dignity, inclusion, and social justice, with a mission to empower and expand access to care.
