Therapeutic Biography
I will provide a safe space for you to process your experiences, your emotions, and your fears and to celebrate your accomplishments. I believe that good therapy leaves a person feeling like they can be exactly who they are while feeling encouraged, supported, and motivated to make the changes that they are eager to make in their life.
In life we develop habits and patterns to cope with stressful situations. These habits serve as a way to get our needs and wants met at the time that they develop. As we move through our life some habits and patterns no longer serve the same purpose that they served when they were created and they can hinder our ability to live the life that we desire. They can lead to behavioral and emotional difficulties and they can create problems in all aspects of our life. The effect that they can have on relationships with our parents, siblings, teachers, friends, and partners can be devastating. They frequently also lead to problematic thinking about ourselves and our life. I’m passionate about identifying and challenging problematic habits and patterns and helping my clients create new patterns that support the life they want.
I work with children, families, young adults, and women Children (8 to 18) and Families
It’s easy to feel stuck when our children struggle. Behavioral challenges and emotional dysregulation in our children can disrupt our entire family and create chaos all around. I work alongside parents and their children to uncover family patterns that exist and find different ways of doing life together. So often very small changes can provide big relief! In addition to identifying family patterns I help parents to learn how to prioritize their own need for self-care, self-reflection, self-acceptance, and growth so that they are better able to attend to the needs of their children. As the old saying goes, “We can’t pour from an empty bucket.”
Young Adults
I have a strong passion for helping to empower young adults as they separate from their families of origin and begin to create their own journey. It’s in these moments that we are best able to identify past patterns that no longer serve us. It is exciting to be part of these paths to self-discovery and independence.
Women's Issues
I enjoy working with women specifically women with children as they navigate the parenting journey.
I look forward to partnering with you or you and your family to make the changes that you’re eager to make.
