My Journey: From Engineering to Empathy

My path to clinical work was not traditional. I earned my first degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan and spent over 11 years in the Detroit Auto Industry. During that decade of troubleshooting systems and analyzing data, I realized that the most important "systems" I cared about weren't under a hood—they were human.

I chose to pivot toward a career where I could be more directly connected to people in their most vulnerable moments. I returned to the University of Michigan to obtain my Master of Clinical Social Work, merging my lifelong analytical mind with a deep, compassionate commitment to human flourishing.  I also owned a health beverage business geared towards helping folks obtain healthy soda and beer alternatives that sold semi-nationally based in Ypsilanti for 17 years!
