Therapeutic Biography
My approach to therapy is individualized, empathetic, and interactive. I work with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, eating disorders, self-harm, experiences of neglect or abuse (emotional, physical, or sexual), LGBTQI-related issues, and both PTSD and complex/developmental trauma. My feeling is that effective therapy is grounded in a trauma-informed lens, and draws from psychodynamic, humanistic, existential, and client-centered perspectives. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through EMDRIA, and frequently incorporate it to support deeper healing and integration. I value the role of humor and enjoy bringing in insights from neuroscience to better understand mental health and the healing process. I enjoy working with clients who are willing to step outside their comfort zone, even one small step at a time. That’s where change begins. A sense of curiosity about thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and the mind-body connection help create the possibility for meaningful self-understanding. Healing is rarely linear—there will be ups and downs. What matters is approaching the process with patience and openness to whatever is emerging. Together, we’ll explore the patterns and experiences that shape who you are and work toward integration and healing at a pace that feels safe and sustainable.
