Therapeutic Biography
My therapeutic approach is characterized by being non-judgmental, strengths-based, and collaborative. I believe that you are the expert on you; my role is to support you, by bringing my insight, experience and empathy to help you unpack, process, and progress on your personal journey. I may gently challenge you to look at any thought patterns or beliefs that seem to no longer serve you; oftentimes, strategies that were adaptive or necessary in the past no longer serve us in the present. My goal is to ensure that you feel understood, heard, and supported during our therapy sessions, and to equip you with coping mechanisms, a sense of empowerment, and hope for the future. My ideal patient is someone who is simply open to the idea that talking to someone can help. Even if vulnerability is a challenge (which it is for so many of us!), just being willing to be open and explore different areas of your life together can lead to powerful results in therapy. I have particular experience in working with trauma survivors, people of color, women, emerging adults, and people in academia; however, I enjoy working with folks of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
