When it comes to therapy, my philosophy is that every person wants their story to be heard and understood. During my sessions, my goal is to create a space where clients feel comfortable and supported, while also providing evidence-based practices that clients can take with them to use outside of therapy. I lean heavily into CBT, while also implementing mindfulness practices and Motivational Interviewing. However, therapy modalities are just that… modalities. I strive to make sure that each client I work with is receiving care that is oriented to their needs. Therapy can be a very conflicting process to begin for many individuals. It is okay to feel scared or uneasy about starting to meet with a therapist. Sometimes the hardest step is the first step. You are the one person who knows yourself best, and that is a sentiment that I earnestly try to keep at the forefront when working with clients.
